Oracle’s move to Nashville
A world headquarters on the East Bank
From a 2021 campus deal to a 2024 headquarters announcement.
- 2021 campus deal. Oracle announced a major Nashville campus on the East Bank of the Cumberland River, with state and Metro incentives tied to a pledge of 8,500 Nashville jobs by the end of 2031.
- 2024 headquarters plan. Chairman Larry Ellison announced that Nashville would become Oracle’s world headquarters.
- Still ramping up. Oracle’s Nashville headcount remains well below the jobs pledge, and its SEC filings still list Austin. The campus is a long-term build-out, not an overnight move.
The campus plans
About 80 acres, 23 buildings, and a central lake.
- Scale. Recent reports describe 23 buildings arranged around a central lake across roughly 82 acres on the East Bank.
- Design. Foster + Partners has been brought on to design the campus.
- Beyond offices. Plans reported in 2026 include a 120-key Nobu hotel at the south end of the site, and Oracle has sought residential zoning for part of it.
- Investment. Published estimates range from the original $1.2 billion to more than $4 billion.
Where the project stands
Site work first, buildings later.
- Early 2026. Oracle filed permits to demolish about 515,000 square feet of industrial buildings on the site.
- Spring 2026. Oracle told city leaders it is moving forward with the East Bank project despite corporate layoffs.
- Next. A start date for vertical construction has not been announced; the incentive agreement runs through 2031.
A whole new district
Oracle anchors a redevelopment reshaping the riverfront.
Oracle’s site sits inside the larger East Bank redevelopment across the river from downtown, where Metro is planning new streets, transit, housing, and the new Titans stadium. For businesses that means new office, retail, and residential space, and the leases, development deals, and contracts that come with it.
Based on public reporting through September 2026. Oracle’s plans, costs, and timelines have changed several times and may change again.
